This is a competency test, not an exam. It exists so we can see how you think and where your strengths are before we take up your time — and ours — with an interview.
If it feels difficult, that is the design
Parts of this test are deliberately hard, and some of it is meant to be outside your field. You are not supposed to sail through it. Alongside what you know, we are looking at how you hold up: whether you keep making sensible decisions when the material gets uncomfortable, whether you can say “I do not know this” cleanly and move on, and whether you still manage your time when a section goes badly.
A half-answer given honestly beats a confident invention, every time. Nobody has ever finished this with everything answered perfectly, and we are not expecting you to be the first.
The — sections marked core are the ones we can judge almost anyone on. You may skip those too, but there will be less for us to go on.
Rules
One attempt. No pause. No going back.
- It cannot be paused. The countdown runs on wall-clock time. Closing the browser, losing power or losing your connection does not stop it.
- It cannot be retaken. One attempt per person — checked against both your email address and your phone number.
- You cannot return to a section once you have submitted or skipped it.
- When the clock reaches zero, the test submits itself with whatever you have done.
About using AI
In this job you will program with AI assistants every day, so we are not going to ask you to pretend otherwise. What we assess is what the assistant does not do for you: reading and debugging what it gives back, deciding on an architecture, and explaining it to someone else. At the end of each section we simply ask whether you used it. Saying yes costs you nothing.
Language
The test and the answers are in English. Working English is part of the role. Day-to-day work in the office is in Spanish and Catalan.
What you need
A computer with a mouse or trackpad — one exercise is done by dragging things around — and an uninterrupted stretch of time. Nothing to install.
Your details
Sent with your test to Human Resources and to the head of the department. Kept for the duration of this recruitment process and deleted when it closes.
